Luigi Pomata’s restaurant wins the second edition of Carloforte Isola del Gusto

Da Nicolo restaurant is the winner of the initiative “A tavola con la storia”, the gastronomic challenge among the restaurants that took place during the second edition of “Carloforte Isola del Gusto”, which closed yesterday, on Monday, April 17 , on the island of San Pietro. The menu offered by the chef Luigi Pomata was considered the most tasty according to the public and the technical jury composed by Edward Raspelli, host of the TV show Melaverde, Roberto Giacobbo, from Voyager and journalists Gilberto Arru and Sara Colonna. The victory was contended, witnessing the high appreciation for the cuisine of the eleven participating restaurants and therefore of the excellence of the local gastronomic proposal. To be served, on the easter weekend, were menus inspired by the ancient tastes of the area, the ancient recipes of the local tradition that revived the atmospheres and eating habits of several centuries ago.
The jury also awarded special prizes: to “La Bottega dell’Isola” restaurant, an acknowledgment for the presentation of the plate, to the “Osteria della Tonnara” for its originality and setting, to restaurant 035 for the best service. There have been thousands of visitors who have chosen the town for the Easter weekend: hotels and bed and breakfasts on the island of San Pietro were full board with the satisfaction of the municipal administration and tour operators. The show has seen alternatin tastings, shows and initiatives to discover the beauties of one of the most beautiful villages in Italy through seven nature and culture trekking itineraries, dedicated to children as well. Many have also visited the Museum Torre San Vittorio (also accessible by a train) and the Museum Casa del Duca which were open for the entire weekend.
